Terms and Conditions

1. The Product offers eligible customers a 50% discount on Gautrain train fares only, available as return trip, Weekly, and Monthly products, which are valid between two pre-selected stations, subject to the following.

• • A Return Trip Product between pre-selected stations valid for 7 days
  • A Monthly Product comprises of 44 trips valid for 44 days
  • A Weekly Product comprises of 10 trips valid for 10 days
  • The 50% discount does not apply to the Gautrain bus, midi-bus, or parking fares.
  • This Product does not apply to trips to or from the OR Tambo Gautrain station.

2. The Product is available to individuals who:

• • earn a combined household annual income of R350,000, or less before deductions,
  • are living with a disability earning up to R600 000 annually before deductions;
  • are scholars or 
  • Pensioners 

3. Applicants must submit the following with their application:

• • Copy of ID/birth certificate
  • Most recent payslip
  • Latest three months’ bank statements
  • Home address
  • Work address

OR

Applicants must submit an official letter from their employer confirming the following details:

• • Full name
  • Annual income
  • Home address
  • Work address

4. Personal information collected during the application and verification process will be handled in compliance with applicable data protection laws (POPIA).

Information will only be used for assessing eligibility, issuing cards, and improving the Product

5. All applications will be subject to an approval and verification process.
6. Incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be considered.
7. Applications may be submitted:

• • In-person at a Gautrain station (excluding OR Tambo)
  • Online at klevamova.gautrainalerts.co.za

8. Bombela reserves the right to contact your employer or other third parties to confirm the information you provides in your application.
9. Successful applicants will receive confirmation telephonically and via email with instructions on how and where to collect their Gautrain card.
10. The discounted fares are valid only for trips between the two pre-selected stations specified during the application process (this restriction excludes Pensioners).
11. The Gautrain card is non-transferable and must be used by the approved individual only. Bombela reserves the right to conduct regular verification checks at stations and onboard trains to ensure that this Product is indeed utilised by the approved user.
12. The Product does not guarantee priority boarding or seating.
13. Approval is subject to capacity and availability on selected routes.
14. Misuse of the Product, including attempts to bypass intended usage, may result in suspension or cancellation of the Product.
15. Bombela reserves the right to periodically review one’s eligibility for this Product, as an example, verify one’s proof of income.
    15.1.Bombela reserves the right to suspend or block usage of the Product if one is found to be ineligible
16. All standard Gautrain rules apply.
17. Standard Gautrain refund rules apply.
18. By applying for the Product, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
19. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or in connection with the use of the Gautrain service including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
20. We reserve the right to modify or revise these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Users are responsible for regularly reviewing these terms to ensure compliance with the latest version.
